You know what you want to change.
Maybe you've spent years trying to improve your relationship with food, your body, your health, or yourself.
You've read the books.
Followed the plans.
Made promises to yourself.
Started over more times than you can count.
And yet when life becomes stressful, overwhelming, or demanding, you find yourself pulled back into the same patterns.
Not because you don't care.
Not because you aren't trying.
Because lasting change requires more than motivation.
The Truth
Most approaches to healing and behaviour change focus on willpower, discipline, or short-term results.
But real life isn't lived in ideal conditions. It's lived in the moments that stretch you.
The moments when you're exhausted.
Overwhelmed.
Stressed.
Disconnected from yourself.
Those are the moments that determine whether change lasts. And those moments require something deeper: Capacity.
The ability to adapt, recover, and stay connected to yourself when life gets hard.
Because you cannot build a sustainable future on a depleted system.
If the changes you've been trying to make aren't sticking, it's not a lack of willpower.
It's a lack of capacity.
Who This Work Is For
This work is for you if you're tired of constantly starting over.
You want a different relationship with food, movement, your body, or yourself—but despite your best efforts, you revert back to old habits and the changes never seem to last.
You're carrying a lot.
Life feels demanding.
And you're beginning to realize that healing isn't about trying harder.
It's about building the internal capacity to navigate life's challenges without abandoning yourself in the process.

Navigating Life’s DemandsBuilding the capacity to stay grounded through stress, uncertainty, and life's inevitable challenges without losing yourself in the process.
Creating Change That Actually Lasts
Moving beyond willpower and short-term fixes. Developing sustainable habits, behaviours, and ways of relating to yourself that support long-term well-being.
"Sustainable change is not created by willpower alone. It is built gradually through developing the resilience, self-awareness, self-compassion, and values-aligned action needed to support lasting wellbeing."
A Different Approach
After years of working in public health, studying resilience, supporting people through change, and reflecting on my own recovery journey, I kept coming back to the same questions:
Why is it so hard to break unhealthy patterns? Why is lasting change so difficult, even when we're motivated?
Over time, I began to notice a pattern.
Sustainable change isn't simply about knowledge, motivation or willpower. It depends on developing the internal capacities, and the supportive relationships and environments, that make meaningful change possible.
Drawing together insights from public health, resilience science, psychotherapy, and lived experience, I gradually developed the Resilience-Inspired Action Framework™: a capacity-first model that illustrates how capacity, meaning, agency, direction, action and support build on one another to create the conditions for lasting change.
Whether we are working towards improving our health, healing our relationship with ourselves, navigating burnout, leading teams, adapting to life's inevitable challenges, the underlying principle remains the same:
Capacity makes sustainable change possible.
The framework offers a practical model that helps people build the foundations for healthier habits, sustainable change and well-being through the following 6 pillars:
Capacity: Building capacity through mindfulness and nervous system regulation
Meaning: Making sense of experiences and developing understanding
Agency: Reclaiming agency by believing you can choose and influence your path
Direction: Building your roadmap by clarifying values, goals, purpose and direction
Action: Translating intentions into behaviour and taking values-aligned action
Support: Strengthening supportive environments and relationships
Together, these elements create a pathway toward greater resilience, self-trust, and sustainable change.
This is not about pushing harder. It's about building the capacity for change that holds.
Why Change Hasn't Stuck
Jamie Dawdy, RN, MSc
Creator of The Resilience-Inspired Action Framework™
Why Is Sustainable Change So Difficult?
Because we often try to change our behaviour without changing our internal state or environment.
The Resilience-Inspired Action Framework™ is a developmental approach to building the capacity you need for health, healing, and recovery.
Rather than reinforcing the narrative to "try harder," the Resilience-Inspired Action Framework™ focuses on building the conditions that make sustainable behaviour change possible:
CAPACITY - Ground & Regulate: Regulating the nervous system to handle the weight of change.
MEANING - Understand your Story: Making sense of past and present patterns.
AGENCY - Choice & Self-Trust: Reclaiming the internal authority to move forward with confidence.
DIRECTION - Define Your Values & Path: Clarifying your path with focus, intention and purpose.
ACTION - Aligned & Inpsired-Action: Moving with inspiration and alignment to values with small steps forward.
SUPPORT - Supportive Environments & Relationships: Cultivating the environment and relationships that protect, reinforce and sustain progress.
Sustainable change isn’t about being "better"—it’s about being better supported.
